- The chiropractic adjustment, or manipulation, is the most effective way to restore motion in fixated joints. Joints lose proper range of motion for a number of reasons, including poor neurodevelopment, postural/repetitive stress, emotional stress, and previous injury. Fixated joints lead to compensation in other areas of the body, eventually leading to overuse, pain, and injury. Lack of proper joint motion also prevents optimal performance. Joints that do not move ideally cannot produce effective power output, thus not allowing the body to perform to its peak potential. A well-placed, gentle chiropractic manipulation restores proper motion to fixated joints.
